I’ll admit it: the city has its hooks in me, but I’m not sure it’s just the seduction of the city or if I have itchy feet.
I also don’t know why I want to leave Austin so much. It’s not at all like I hate it, but I’ve been in Austin for 5 years now and it feels about the time to go elsewhere, to hit the reset button and start anew.
I don’t think I’m ready just yet.
But maybe, hopefully, soon.
Had a meet-and-greet today at Hunter College High School. Never done anything like this before, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. The possibility of nobody showing up was definitely rattling around in the back of my mind. When I got there, five or six kids were waiting for me.
“Well that’s nice,” I thought. I figured since the group was so small, I’d do something nice for everyone. So I went up to a nearby food cart and bought all the attendees a soda.
“You know there are more people coming,” one of them said. ”Class lets out in five minutes.”
“Oh.”
I’ve been spoiling myself with the sneak previews John Mayer’s been putting out for Born and Raised… going to make myself wait until the whole album drops and listen to it straight through.
